• Resin Polishing Pads

Use resin pads for final scratch refinement, clarity, and gloss development after proper grinding and transition work.

Choose by wet or dry process, current grit, floor material, and target finish level.

  • How to Choose Resin Polishing Pads

Resin polishing pads are used after coating removal, metal grinding, and hybrid scratch refinement are complete. They are finishing tools, not heavy correction tools. If the floor still has coating, deep scratches, open metal marks, or uneven grinding patterns, resin pads will polish over the problem instead of fixing it.

If the floor has epoxy, glue, mastic, paint, or coating residue, start with PCD coating removal tools. If the slab needs opening, leveling, or scratch control, use metal bond grinding tools. If the metal scratch is still visible before polishing, use hybrid pads before moving into resin polishing pads.

Choose resin pads by wet or dry process, grit sequence, pad diameter, floor material, machine type, and target gloss. Concrete, terrazzo, marble, and stone can need different pad styles and polishing behavior. A pad that works well after a clean hybrid step may leave marks if the previous grinding stage was skipped.

For machine fitment, holder style, backing type, and pad size, check shop by machine, adapters and plates, or use contact us before ordering.

Concrete Polishing Pad Types We Supply

Concrete polishing pads are not one product. The right pad depends on floor material, machine type, working area, current grit, and target finish.

For open concrete floors, use larger floor polishing pads when the machine setup allows better coverage and even pressure. For smaller grinders, edge machines, and detail work, 3 inch and 5 inch resin pads are easier to control. For wall edges, corners, and restricted areas, triangle pads or smaller dry polishing pads are usually more practical than large round pads.

Use resin polishing pads after the floor has passed through the correct grinding and transition steps. If the metal scratches are still visible, move back to hybrid pads. If the slab still needs opening, leveling, or scratch control, stay with metal bond grinding tools.

Concrete, Terrazzo, Marble, and Stone Pads

Concrete polishing pads and terrazzo polishing pads can look similar, but the job condition is different. Concrete floors may need stronger scratch refinement after metal grinding. Terrazzo floors often need cleaner polishing control because aggregate, binder, and repaired areas can respond differently under the same grit.

For terrazzo, marble, or stone polishing, choose the pad by floor material, wet or dry process, previous grit, and final gloss target. A diamond resin pad that works well on concrete may not give the same finish on terrazzo or marble if the surface preparation is different.

If the buyer is not sure whether to start with 50 grit, 100 grit, 200 grit, or a higher resin step, check the previous grinding mark first. Resin pads should refine an already controlled surface. They should not be used to hide deep scratches from skipped metal or hybrid steps.

    Terrazzo Polishing Pad Selection

For terrazzo polishing pads, the first question is not only grit. Check whether the floor is cement terrazzo, epoxy terrazzo, marble aggregate terrazzo, or a repaired mixed surface. Each floor can respond differently to the same diamond resin pad.

Use lower resin grits when the terrazzo still shows visible grinding marks after the metal or hybrid step. Move to higher resin grits only after the scratch pattern is even. If the floor has exposed aggregate, patched areas, or different hardness zones, test a small area before running the full floor.

For terrazzo floor polishing, larger floor pads can help keep open areas consistent. Smaller resin pads, triangle pads, and flexible polishing pads are better for edges, corners, stairs, and detail work. If the terrazzo is still uneven or has deep scratches, correct the surface before final polishing.

For product selection, start with resin polishing pads for final refinement and gloss. Use hybrid pads when metal scratches are still visible before polishing. Use metal bond grinding tools if the terrazzo surface still needs opening, flattening, or deeper correction.

    Useful Starting Points

For concrete polishing pad selection, start from resin polishing pads.

For scratch refinement before resin, use hybrid pads.

For slab opening and leveling before polishing, use metal bond grinding tools.

For grinder fitment, holder type, and pad size, check shop by machine.

For uncertain floor condition or mixed pad orders, send the machine model, current grit, floor material, and target finish through contact us.

  • Frequently Asked Questions

What are resin polishing pads used for?

Resin polishing pads are used for final scratch refinement, clarity, and gloss development after the floor has been properly ground and transitioned. Use resin polishing pads after the metal and hybrid steps are complete.

Can resin pads remove deep metal scratches?

No. Resin pads are not designed to remove deep metal scratches. If metal bond scratches are still visible, use hybrid pads before resin polishing. If the slab still needs opening or leveling, stay with metal bond grinding tools.

Should I use wet or dry resin polishing pads?

Choose wet or dry resin pads by jobsite process, machine setup, floor material, and target finish. Wet polishing can help control heat and slurry behavior. Dry polishing needs the right pad, dust control, and floor condition.

Can resin pads remove coating or glue?

No. Resin pads should not be used for epoxy, glue, mastic, paint, or coating removal. Remove coating first with PCD coating removal tools, then grind and transition the concrete before polishing.

How do I choose the right resin pad size?

Choose pad size by grinder, holder, backing type, and working area. For machine fitment, check shop by machine. If the holder or backing system is unclear, check adapters and plates.

What should I send if I am not sure which polishing pad to use?

Use contact us and provide the machine model, current grit, previous grinding step, floor material, wet or dry process, and target finish.

Can resin polishing pads be used on terrazzo floors?

Yes. Resin polishing pads can be used on terrazzo floors after the surface has been properly
